With the new case of the variant Omicron rapidly on the rise face coverings have become mandatory again in England.
So what do we know about this highly evolved virus?
The first case of Omicron was first reported to WHO in South Africa on 24th November 2021.
Gov.uk states Omicron has a large number of spike protein mutations, as well as mutations in other parts of the viral genome.
Health secretary told sky “It is not yet clear whether and or how Omicron escapes for natural immunity or vaccine induced immunity.” The UK could have around one million infections of the strain in the community by the end of the year.
Symptoms of Omicron include, fatigue, body aches and mild headaches. No parents it doesn’t mean you defiantly have Omicron its probably lack of sleep because of a teething baby, sleep is for the weak anyway!!
